蘋果推出了 iBooks Author ，使用者可用 Mac 透過 Mac App Store 免費下載，就可以應用 iBooks Author 上所提供的版型或發揮本身的創意，來製作具備多媒體內容且支援多點觸控與 HTML5 的數位電子書來，並可將成品直接送交 iBookstore 去。目前 iBooks Author 需要 OS X 10.7 或更新的系統版本。
